Daily Self-Deliverance

Maintaining your freedom through daily prayer and discipline

What is Daily Self-Deliverance?

After experiencing initial deliverance through the 4-step prayer, many believers find that spiritual warfare continues. Daily self-deliverance is the practice of maintaining your freedom through regular prayer, discipline, and dependence on God.

Just as the prophet Jeremiah wrote in Lamentations, it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the LORD (verse 26). This waiting is not passive—it is an active, disciplined seeking of God's presence and protection each day.

Why Daily?

  • Spiritual warfare is ongoing, not one-time
  • Matthew 12:43-45 warns that spirits return to clean houses
  • Daily discipline keeps you filled with the Holy Spirit
  • It is good to bear the yoke while young (Lamentations 3:27)

The Discipline of Waiting

Lamentations 3:28 says, “Let him sit alone and be silent, for God has disciplined him.”Daily self-deliverance requires solitude and silence before God.

Sit Alone

Find a private place where you can pray without interruption. Jesus often withdrew to lonely places to pray (Mark 1:35).

Be Silent

Wait quietly for God. Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God.” Silence allows you to hear His voice.

This discipline of waiting is not punishment—it is for your good. God disciplines those He loves (Hebrews 12:6), and this daily practice of solitude and silence strengthens your spirit against the enemy's attacks.

Humility Before God

Lamentations 3:29 says, “Let him put his mouth in the dust—perhaps there is still hope.”This is a posture of deep humility and repentance.

What This Means:

  • Recognizing your complete dependence on God
  • Confessing any sins that have opened doors to the enemy
  • Repenting of pride, self-reliance, or independence
  • Acknowledging that without God, you have no defense

When you humble yourself daily before God, you close the doors that pride and self-sufficiency open to the enemy. This humility is your protection.

God's Faithful Love

Lamentations 3:31-32 brings hope: “For the Lord will not reject us forever. Even if he causes suffering, he will show compassion according to the abundance of his faithful love.”

This is why you can practice daily self-deliverance with confidence—not because you are strong, but because God's faithful love is abundant and He will not reject you forever.

How to Practice Daily Self-Deliverance

  1. 1

    Find a Private Place

Sit alone where you won't be interrupted. This may be early morning before others wake.

  2. 2

    Be Silent and Wait

Don't rush into prayer. Wait quietly for God's presence. 5-10 minutes of silence.

  3. 3

    Confess and Repent

Put your "mouth in the dust"—confess sins, repent of pride, acknowledge dependence.

  4. 4

    Pray the Deliverance Prayer

Go through the 4-step deliverance prayer. Spirits often return—expel them daily.

  5. 5

    Fill with Scripture and Worship

Read the Word. Sing worship. Fill the empty house with God's presence (Matthew 12:44).
